Maine Fire Departments Warn of Phone Scam

I get hit with this phone call at least once a year, an organization claiming to be fundraising for a local fire department wants me to donate money. Maine fire departments are warning us that these calls are part of a scam.

The caller claims to be fundraising for the "Firefighters Support Fund" to benefit your local fire department. This is not a legitimate organization and you should NOT give out any personal or financial information to them.

Always do your research before donating any money over the phone.
