It's been a beautiful fall, but sadly, we're approaching the final days of those vibrant colors in the trees.
Maine is Having a Wonderful Fall Foliage Season
The foliage season is cruising by, with reports now dropping weekly. According to Maine.gov, Northern Maine has already passed peak season, with Central and Western Maine peaking now, and then closer to the end of October for Southern Maine.
Warm temps and cool nights have been a huge help for the season. It's also created a wonderful atmosphere for folks to enjoy the leaves, while also enjoying other fall activities.
How Much of the Fall Foliage Season is Left in Maine for This Year?
So, where do things stand this week? Thanks to the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry's Maine Foliage Report, we can see exactly where things stand.
There is officially more purple than red, which means the season has almost passed us by. That’s quite sad when you think about it—it never seems long enough.
We’ve already passed peak in four of the seven regions, with only the coastal, southern, and parts of central Maine remaining.
This feels like the final call. There may be a few more weeks left, but by our next update in a week, most areas will likely be well past peak.
So, get out there and enjoy it while you still can.
