Maine State Police Need Your Help With This Unsolved Murder from 1984

On October 13, 1984, Beverly Polchies, 25, from Woodstock, New Brunswick was picked up in Old Town by the Old Town Police Department for being intoxicated. They contacted Indian Island Police who picked her up and took her to the Penobscot Indian Island Reservation.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. an Indian Island police officer dropped her off on Route 2 in Milford.
At 10:00 p.m. a small, white vehicle pulled into Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Emergency Room with Beverly Polchies in the passenger seat.
The driver told ER staff that she was intoxicated and had been hit by a car. He then immediately left the emergency room area.
Beverly was severely injured and died about one hour after arriving at the hospital.
The driver was described as a white male, slender, 5'6" to 5' 8", approximately 30 to 35 years old and 150-160 pounds.

 

The Maine State Police said that the Medical Examiner's Office ruled Beverly’s death a homicide in the post, and that investigators would like to talk to the man who dropped Beverly off at EMMC.
