This is something most of us Mainers have in common. We seem to push getting a renewed inspection sticker as long as we can. We've seen some license plates where months have gone by since the sticker expired.

Well, here comes some good news for procrastinating Maine drivers. The state has decided to "extend the grace period for inspections."

This is for stickers "that expired during the COVD-19 State of Emergency declared by Gov. Janet Mills."

Here's the announcement from the Maine State Police Facebook page.

Not only inspection stickers, "this also extends to vehicle registrations as well."

It's good to know that Maine police will give us a break and aren't coming after us for expired stickers. Some things are way more important than that right now.
