With Thanksgiving happening a week later this year than last year, our friends at the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad decided to get their annual Polar Express attraction rolling down tracks earlier.

This is one of the most popular holiday traditions around and has been for many years. My wife and I remember bringing our sons (who are now 20 and 26) when they were little.

The whole experience is so magical. It's not everyday you get to take the family back in time to holidays past on a real train choo-chooing down the tracks.

And it's complete with a conductor, chefs, elves songs and stories just like the movie.  According to the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Facebook page, this "is the only officially licensed THE POLAR EXPRESS™ train ride in the state of Maine."

Oh yeah, don't forget that Santa will visit and that yummy hot chocolate too.

It's all aboard for the Polar Express opening weekend at the Ocean Gateway Visitor Center. Tickets are still available for some times, but going fast. After this weekend they are likely to be sold out.
