Most Maine ATV Trails Open For The Season On Friday
If you love to take advantage of Maine's extensive network of trails on your ATV adventures, we have some great news for you! The vast majority of the state's ATV trails will be open starting Friday (May 26th).
According to an article on the WGME website, reps for the Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands say about 90 percent of the state's trails will be available for riding this weekend.
The opening of much of the trails system had been delayed due to the wet weather we have been experiencing.
One of the really cool things about the trail system here in Maine is that it is setup to allow you to ride through much of the state. According to Wild ATV, there are about 1,200 miles of ATV trails in the state. Many of those trails are cut through the wilderness found in Aroostook County. Of course, if you are taking advantage of our trails, please do so responsibly. Follow the rules, wear the proper protective equipment and never ride if you have been drinking.
