Where Can I Get a PCR Test in Maine?

Even though COVID rates are going down in Maine, there is still a great need for testing. Especially if you need a PCR test where you can get results back quickly. The Cross Insurance Center in Portland is open for PCR testing, and there are hundreds of slots available.

The testing site is run by Curative, which is the entity that has been running the testing site at the Portland Jetport. The testing location at the Cross Insurance Arena is right at the "lower" box office lobby on the corner of Spring and Center Street.

An appointment is needed but there are plenty of spots currently available. Results are back within 1 to 2 days, which is awesome.

From the Curative website:

"Appointments are preferred to minimize wait times, and take precedence over walk-ins. Please bring your ID and insurance card (if applicable) to the site to receive your test. There is no out of pocket cost for the test and it is available for both insured and uninsured; insured must provide insurance information."

PCR Testing Hours this week

Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Friday: 9 am-4 pm

Thursday: 9am-2pm

Weekend: Closed

The testing site at Cross Insurance Arena is currently booking out through March 25th.

Maine has had over 218,000 people with COVID-19 and close to 2000 who have died from the virus. And while COVID rates have gone down from the Omicron surge in December, thousands of Mainers are still testing positive every day.
