New England Patriots and Robert Kraft Send Gift to First Female Touchdown Scorer in Brockton History
Brockton High School has been around for 125 years. Throughout the school's history, there has been one female to ever score a touchdown for the varsity football team.
That girl is McKenzie Quinn, who did it just last week.
"I’ve always been, like, gritty, if that makes sense. Like, I have always been down in the dirt playing around, like I work on a farm," Quinn said in an interview with Fox.
Quinn's rushing touchdown is a huge milestone in Brockton's history ,and was noticed by some pretty big faces...and NFL teams.
Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots decided to celebrate this incredible accomplishment with a signed ball and personal note from the owner, Kraft.
The note read:
"To the Mighty Quinn –
A pat on the back to you and all who contributed to your historic TD! We love to see that you're having a ball pursuing your passions. Continued success. The Patriots are rooting for you!
We are all Patriots."
How cool is that? The Patriots organization has done an incredible job of reaching out to our communities in unique ways. Kraft does things for Patriots fans up in Maine, near students in Brockton, and has even contributed millions of dollars to Massachusetts General Hospital.
In fact, he has donated 75 million dollars to Mass General, including the largest donation in the hospital's 200+ year history. Check out his work here.
As far as this incredible milestone by McKenzie Quinn, congratulations. Not only is Quinn an athlete in a sport that is predominantly men, but she is a 5.0 student.
Yes, 5.0. She is the top student in the 800-student class at Brockton High, according to Fox.
