New England’s Downeast Cider Triples Down on Their Slushie Flavors
Last June I heard rumors that Downeast Cider had released a limited edition blue slushie flavored slushie. A slushie-flavored drink for the adults. I manage to secure a four-pack of the very popular beverage on a trip to Shrewsberry, Massachusettes. I was not disappointed. It tastes fantastic!
This year I happened to see a sign at RSVP Discount Beverage as I was driving by saying they had Downeast blue slushie in stock. So I barreled into the parking lot practically on two wheels to grab some.
Lo and behold, they had more than just the blue slushie. They added two more flavors!
Now you can get red and white Downeast slushies to go with the very popular blue slushie from last season. RSVP had them in 4-packs for each flavor or you could buy a 9-pack and get three of each flavor.
So what exactly do they taste like? The description on each can describes it best and with a great deal of dry humor too:
Tonight you can drink as many blue slushies as you want with no brain freeze. No brain freeze tonight. Tomorrow might be a different story.
Yes it's lemon flavored. Yes we named it white slushie. What other color slush would it be? You're not drinking that.
White slushie. Lemon? Blue slushie. Raspberry? Red slushie. Cherry. Something that makes sense. Every group needs a straight shooter. Anarchy otherwise.
So far, the blue slushie is still my favorite. The red slushie didn't taste as raspberry as I would have liked it. The white wasn't too bad at all, but can't surpass the blue. Now that I've had three drinks in about an hour, I should stop typing.
Get yours at RSVP in Portland or any other of your local adult beverage stores.
