Winter might not be here on the calendar yet, but it sure is time to bundle up out there. Let's help our fellow Mainers in need this weekend by keeping kids warm all season long.

You might have some outgrown winter gear in the closet that could make a family grateful. It's a pretty easy way to give during the holidays.

On Saturday, December 7th, our friends at NEWS CENTER Maine are having their annual Coats & Toys for Kids drive all over across the state.

NEWS CENTER Maine's Coats and Toys for Kids campaign is in its 37th year, collecting gently used coats as well as new, unwrapped toys to bring smiles to a child in need.

Coats toys can be dropped off now through Tuesday, December 31 at most Hannaford, Shaw's and Pratt Abbott locations.  New, unwrapped toys will be accepted until Sunday, December 15.

Coats & Toys for Kids Day is Saturday, December 7. NEWS CENTER Maine will be live from 7 locations throughout the state collecting coats and toys. Find your nearest location here.

According to NEWS CENTER, " An estimated 853,000 coats and 71,210 toys have been collected over the years."

Here's the final tally from 2018. Way to go, Mainahs! Let's make that number grow as much as we can in 2019!
