NH Mother Looking for Good Samaritan Named Abby Who Helped Calm Baby on Plane
With all that's happening in our world right now, it's always refreshing to hear of circumstances that remind us of the goodness that still exists out there.
For one mother, this goodness came in the form of a young woman sitting across from her on an airplane.
Traveling with children can be a daunting task. Kids are truly unpredictable, and it can be especially challenging with babies and toddlers who don't yet know any better when it comes to public transport etiquette.
Ashley Paige Tamulonis of Plymouth, New Hampshire recently experienced this firsthand when on a flight from Baltimore to Atlanta with her 1-1/2-year-old daughter, Tessa. The two were on a last-minute trip to a funeral and had experienced a layover, so Ashley was already exhausted in addition to grieving.
Little Tessa, who was tired from being confined in different seats and strollers, began to get "fussy" in her mother's lap.
Ashley gradually became stressed, as she naturally didn't want her child to cause a scene on the full plane. Soon she began to cry, because nothing could get her baby to calm down.
Enter Abby, a young woman sitting across the aisle from the pair. Ashley explained what happened next in this Facebook post that she's hoping will go viral.
Seeing the emotional mother, Abby offered to hold young Tessa. In response, Ashley did something she normally wouldn't have done, and passed the child over to her.
Thankfully, the two soon became "like peanut butter and jelly," and Tessa finally calmed down. It's safe to assume that things were smooth sailing (or flying?) for the rest of the flight.
Now, Ashley is using the power of the Internet to try to find Abby and thank her for this small act of kindness that meant the world to her.
"Abby, I don’t know how to find you or properly thank you, but God sent me you when I needed someone most. Your parents have raised an incredible young woman, and I pray that the good you spread comes back a hundred fold."
Hopefully, the two will be able to make contact with one another, but until then, we can appreciate the selflessness of people like Abby that helps make our world a better place.
