It's back, and we're so ready.

On the first full weekend of August each year, the Suncook Valley Rotary hosts a free, family-friendly hot air balloon rally. The long-anticipated weekend is almost here, and the 40th annual event will be happening this Friday through Sunday, August 5-7.

While you unfortunately won't be able to ride up in the hot air balloons, there are still plenty of things you and your family can do in addition to gaze up at the colorful aircrafts taking off and floating in the sky.

According to the event's Facebook page, visitors will be able to enjoy "lots of food and other vendors, a craft fair, activities for kids, a 5k Road Race, helicopter rides, fireworks and more!" This sounds like such a pleasant and enjoyable way to kick off the first weekend in August, and temperatures appear to be in our favor as well.

Here's a look at some of the food vendors who will be in attendance:

Parking is available at multiple locations in town, some of which will have shuttle services available. Here's more information on the logistics below.

And of course, here's the full schedule of events that will be happening throughout the weekend.

Please note that the rally's events are weather-dependent according to the Facebook page. The balloon pilots will therefore have to double-check conditions before choosing whether or not to take off.
