A burst in temperatures and longer days are right around the corner reminding us that summer is on the way. It will soon be time for hiking, camping, beaches, and… outdoor concerts! Although they are still a few months away, the outdoor concert calendar for Maine is already heating up.
It was 4th of July weekend 14 years back, and the sun was throwing a tantrum. Temperatures were soaring, but nothing stopped the flow of Mainers and out-of-towners pouring into the Oxford Fairgrounds in Oxford, Maine. They were armed with tents, sunscreen, and a thirst for some serious live music.
This special summer event will showcase the local creative community and feature live music, food, craft vendors, games, farm tours, and 200+ lavender plants.
On the first full weekend of August each year, the Suncook Valley Rotary hosts a free, family-friendly hot air balloon rally. This year's festivities will be tomorrow through Sunday, August 4-6.
