Think of it as the Maine Sportsmen Hall of Fame!  The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is accepting nominations for their annual Lifetime Outdoor Achievement Award.

To be eligible you must have put in some time in the Maine woods!  Nominees must have hunted, trapped, and fished in Maine for a COMBINED total of 40 years. 40 YEARS! Can you imagine the stories and adventures these people must have! The ideal candidates would also be active in being mentors or instructors in outdoor activity.

Last year's winners were Charlie Mann from Winthrop and George Smith from Mount Vernon.

Do you have someone you want to nominate? YOU CAN FIND THE FORM HERE

Nominations, which are due by 5 p.m. on August 7, 2020, can be sent by email to Emily MacCabe at Emily.MacCabe@maine.gov or by mail to 284 State St, SHS 41, Augusta, Maine 04333.
