Wow. You really miss your boyfriend when your plan to see him more is to shut down where he works with a couple of bomb threats.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Kayla Blake, 33, allegedly called in a bomb threat last Thursday morning to Puritan Medical Products in Pittsfield. A second call came two hours later, the newspaper stated, and that Blake allegedly said she was going to place four pipe bombs near the plant.

The plant where her boyfriend works had to be evacuated, and it completely messed up production for the day, the Portland Press Herald reported.

Police traced the call to Etna and found Blake after interviewing people in a neighborhood, the newspaper stated. Police said she confessed, saying there were no bombs and that she just wanted to spend more time with her boyfriend, the Press Herald added.

Blake was charged with a felony count of terrorizing, according to the Press Herald, and she was also ordered to stay away from Puritan and not contact the company.

You may think that Puritan, based out of Guilford, sounds familiar. They are the company that had a lot of attention back in 2020 because they make swabs for COVID-19 tests. There are two plants in Pittsfield and both had to be evacuated. It affected around 400 people. Because of this, they lost a full day of production.

Several agencies worked together to find the threat and determine that it was a bogus threat. Production at Puritan was back to normal on Friday, the newspaper noted.
