City life is about to get a little more fun with the addition of a tubing hill at Thompson's Point.

Maybe you spent a little time this summer on Thompson's Point singing along to your favorite artist, attending a beer festival or checking out the plethora of new businesses that have opened there. But Thompson's Point is looking to be more than just an oceanfront summertime destination, it wants to a wintertime one as well. Their latest additional is sure to help.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Thompson's Point will roll out a new tubing hill starting in December. The man-made hill will support 5 lines of tubing fun. The structure will stand two stories and while it won't be able to compete with some of the natural tubing places in Maine, it will allow city dwellers and tourists a little taste of tubing excitement.

Rates for tubing will include just a one time, one ride fee, hourly rates or a chance to enjoy the tubing hill all winter long with a season pass.

It will be the second winter-themed attraction to open at Thompson's Point in as many years. Last year, the Rink at Thompson's Point opened to much fanfare. This year, the rink will be slightly larger to accommodate more guests. The yurt filled with delicious craft beer is also set to be back and with businesses like Bissell Brothers brewery and Big J's Chicken Shack permanently entrenched, Thompson's Point is a full-blown winter destination.
