Just about 10 months ago, the little bagel shop that wowed in Biddeford, Rover Bagel, announced on social media that they were closing their doors in pursuit of some personal and professional growth. That news left a bagel-sized hole in the hearts of many of their customers, as people traveled from across state lines in some cases to grab a few of Rover's deliciously chewy bagels. In a year where there has a little too much negative news, how about some positive news? Rover Bagel is returning to Biddeford with a brand new shop.

According to Portland Food Map, the owners behind Rover Bagel have leased out space at 10 Westpoint Lane in Biddeford and will begin working on bringing Rover Bagel back to the community. For fans of the bagel shop, the new location won't be too far removed from their previous home at 111 Elm Street. For several months, Rover has been doing pop-ups with great success at different locations, but it's time for the popular bagel shop to put down some roots once again.

But if you're expecting to walk right into a new cafe next week, you'll have to be patient. The new space will take some time to outfit, and the owners are hopeful that the new Rover Bagel will open in early 2021. The new shop will still feature the classic wood-fired bagels that Rover has become known for amongst many other offerings.

So while the original was great, sometimes the sequel can be even better. You can't go wrong with a bagel in the morning.
