The Savannah Bananas are a unique baseball team, to say the least.  Recently, the team brought their crazy antics to New England's Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, Massachusetts, home of the Brockton Rox, and Hadlock Field, Portland, Maine, home of the Portland Sea Dogs.

There are two homeboys occasionally on the Bananas team, Heisman Trophy winner and Boston College standout quarterback Doug Flutie, and 2004 Boston Red Sox World Champion Johnny Damon.

It was a whirlwind weekend, especially for Damon. The Bananas played in Brockton, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, August 16, then on Thursday, Damon and his wife Michelle were spotted at Fenway Park for the Morgan Wallen show.

The Savannah Bananas have sold out for the season, and the tickets aren't cheap, but the entertainment is priceless.

Doug Flutie came out shaking out a box of "Flutie Flakes".  Remember those?  According to ESPN.com, they were Frosted Corn Flakes, and with Flutie's popularity soaring in 1998 when he was quarterback of the Buffalo Bills, they made a cereal named after him.

Flutie was hoping to sell a few thousand back then, but 2.3 million boxes later, he raised a lot of awareness and money for the Flutie Foundation and autism.

Johnny Damon got an inning walk off home run in Brockton, then Friday and Saturday nights, the Bananas had games in Portland, Maine.

Friday night's game was highlighted by a magnificent rainbow across the sky over the stadium.  Their bus was parked at the Doubletree Hotel.

If you don't know anything about the Savannah Bananas, check out this video, because they are the hottest thing the MLB has seen in a while, with tricks like using a hockey stick on the pitchers mound, or batting and running to 1st base on stilts, flaming bats, or the dancing umpire.  These are all common sights at a game with the Bananas, as well as the opposing team, the Party Animals.

It's more fun than a barrel of monkeys, if you remember that slogan!
