Selfless Advocate for Pets in Maine Needs Expensive Heart Surgery
This surgery is only available in Kansas.
Nadine Molly who owns No Bowl Empty 2 Pet Food Pantry needs our help. No Bowl Empty is a project of the Maine Homeless Veterans Alliance and the sister program of No Bowl Empty. Nadine feeds over 2000 Maine pets a month. Now she needs us.
Nadine has cardiac health issues and recently saw a specialist in Kansas. She will be having cardiac surgery in January. What makes this challenging is that Nadine has Medication Resistant Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia. The only surgical fix her doctor will approve is called Open sinus Node Sparing Thoracoscpic Hybrid Ablation. No one in New England is doing this surgery yet, and she has to take three more trips to Kansas. Then she'll be in the hospital's cardiac ICU for four days, then in a hotel for six days before they will clear her to fly home.
There is a GoFundMe page set up by Rebecca Jackson who runs It Takes a Village 207, a sister program of No Bowl Empty. She knows Nadine and also knows how stubborn she is. Nadine also knows that this is not an easy time for Mainers and she asked that the total of the GoFundMe be lowered. Rebecca apologized and said, no - you need this and we need you!
Medical Costs and Lodging for Nadine's Heart Surgery GoFundMe
If you are wondering where the money will go, Rebecca broke down the out-of-pocket cost for everything on the GoFundMe page. It's not just the surgery, but hotels, food, and care for those left behind. Plus, No Bowl Empty had to shut down while Nadine gets the medical help she needs.
Maybe Nadine has helped your pet, if you can please help Nadine and share her story and her GoFundMe.
