Nathan Nichols in South Portland owns a two-unit apartment building and is in a position to help - so that's exactly what he's doing.

He posted on his Facebook page Friday that he wouldn't be collecting rent in April. And then he challenged others to do the same.

Nathan asked other landlords to do the same. He knows that not everyone is in a position to help, but some are.

Thank you Nathan for being the good during this very trying time. So many are affected and will be definitely hurting from the lack of work, or even social contact.

Nathan told NewsCenter Maine that all he's doing is trading money. The porch may not get fixed right away so that he can provide this financial relief for his tenants.

I'm sure that it is greatly appreciated - I know that the kindness in this action is exactly what we all need.

Thanks, Nathan...
