Spring Nor’Easter Causing Power Outages in Maine

A spring Nor'Easter that is bringing heavy rain and strong winds for some and snow for others in Maine is causing power outages across Maine.

The coastline is what is seeing the brunt of it as of this writing with wind gusts between 50 and 60 mph.  As of 7:45 Tuesday morning, Cumberland County had the most outages with over 10,000 homes without power, a number that will likely climb as wind gusts will continue throughout the day.

This is not what anyone is wanting as we move into the time of year when more pleasant weather comes to Maine. At least for most of the state, this Nor'easter doesn't come with snow to shovel and plow.

If you are without power, call Central Maine Power at 1-800-696-1000 so they can add you to this real-time list of power outages. You can also report an outage on your smartphone by using CMP's app or by going to their website.

As always, the amazing crews at CMP will be out working tirelessly to restore power as quickly as they can but it may take some time depending on the total number of outages. So be patient and make the best of it. They will get to you as soon as they possibly can.
