COVID and Live Entertainment

Entertainment was amongst the first thing to "go" when the world shut down nearly two years ago. The process to return to "normal" has been slow, and still hasn't been 100% "normal".

A few months back State Theatre in Portland, Maine started requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test before entering the venue. Their latest update is a big change and they are unapologetic about it.

Return of the Mask

State Theatre took to their social media platforms today to get out their latest Health and Safety Update.

Effective immediately guests of State Theatre must wear a mask at all times unless they are actively eating or drinking.

This update coming through at a time where record-breaking cases are popping up each day and the spread of the Omicron variant. Plus, the risky holiday season where groups will be gathering.

Unapologetic

Updates such as these are never met with full support but State Theatre is not in the business of pleasing everyone and they are very clear about that in their update stating, "[I]f you actually have an issue with us trying to keep people safe, we hope that you get some time with a therapist to work your s*** out. [PLEASE NOTE: Social media is not your therapist.]"
