On April 23, 2005, Mötley Crüe brought their Red, White & Crüe Tour to Portland, delivering exactly what fans had hoped for—classic Crue tunes, pyrotechnics, pounding drums, and all the glam-metal theatrics. But the night didn’t go off without a little chaos.
Fifteen years ago, on April 15, 2010. It was a first night of a new leg of the big reunion tour. Alice In Chains made a triumphant return to Portland, Maine, performing at the Cumberland County Civic Center, and the crowd went wild.
It’s been 33 years since one of the many legendary rock shows went down at the Cumberland County Civic Center (now Cross Insurance Arena), in Portland, Maine. We’ve been blessed with a lot of them, but this one is one of those that is still talked about to this day. On October 8th, 1991, Van Halen graced the stage with their rock royalty and it was an unforgettable night.

Putting this list together confirmed two things: time goes by way too fast, and Portland had (and still has) a wide variety of bands coming through our city.
