Whether you’re visiting Maine as a loyal tourist or you’re a born-and-raised local, you know a destination you can’t miss out on is Camden. The adorable, quaint, and historic coastal town boasts beautiful water views, adorable local businesses, and rich history in a scenic area that looks like a miniature Portland.

I hadn’t been to Camden in years but spent the weekend in Rockland for a local band’s show on the water, so I had to go refresh my memory and take in everything the beautiful neighboring town of Camden has to offer.

One of the town’s offerings is one of the most precious ice cream shops I’ve ever seen.

River Ducks Ice Cream in Camden, Maine

Camden is one of those places you go without a set plan in mind and you just meander around taking in the scenery. With no destination in mind, my partner and I window shopped, got coffee from a local store, and ooh’ed and ahh’ed at the many art galleries.

We strolled along, stopping every three minutes for me to take a photo, turned the corner and I gasped at the beautiful river and bright pink shop in front of me.

I had noticed as we got closer to the river, we were seeing more and more people licking melting ice cream cones and sitting on benches with their bowls of soft serve. That’s when we saw the River Ducks Ice Cream shop and I couldn’t blame everyone for wanting to stop in for a cone.

The shop sits right on the river with outdoor seating for you to enjoy the views with your treat. Walking across the miniature bridge was beautiful and one of the many quirky and cute parts of the town.

If you’re going to spend any time in Camden, I would recommend stopping at this shop, cooling down by the river, taking a selfie with the hot pink and green tiny house, and enjoying one of many unique spots in the quaint coastal town.
