The Deadline to Enter the Maine Moose Permit Lottery Is Wednesday

According to WGME, the number of moose permits granted this year has increased by ten percent, and your chance to join the raffle to get one ends this Wednesday.

Mainers flock to try to get a moose hunting permit every year, and every year there are thousands more applicants than there are permits being granted. It's as bad as trying to score a bib in the Beach to Beacon! This year Maine biologists recommended increasing the number of permits by ten percent because the herds are doing better. In recent years ticks have devastated our moose herds, this year the herd is a bit stronger.
