The Mayor Of Westbrook Wants You To Come See Ice Disk 2020
In case you missed seeing the astounding circle of ice spinning on the Presumpscot River in Westbrook last year, it looks like you've got a second chance.
It appears that another ice disk began forming last week. Will it it be as well-formed of a monstrous circle as last year's and gain international attention a second year in a row? We shall see. Nonetheless, this repeat occurrence has caused excitement once again in my city.
So much, that Mayor Michael Foley is inviting friends from near and far to come and see this mysterious freak of of frozen nature to help cure any cabin fever we might have. The City of Westbrook took to Vimeo to get the word out.
He also does a great job of reminding everyone of all the great places to eat and drink in downtown Westbrook if you decide to come check this new beast out. Let's hope it develops as magnificently moon-like as last year's.
A year ago last week, the story was noticed and reported on by news outlets all over the world. The folks at Good Morning America did a terrific piece and even gave us an explanation of how this incredible phenomenon happens.
