What do Santa Claus and Slugger the Sea Dog have in common? They both love Christmas and they will both be at Hadlock field Saturday, December 3 for the return of "Holiday at Hadlock."

Holiday at Hadlock has been an annual event at the home of the Sea Dogs, Hadlock Field since 2010, but missed the last two years due to the covid pandemic.

It's a ton of holiday fun for the whole family especially when Slugger is around.

The good news is it's absolutely free. It's the Sea Dogs' way of sharing some holiday cheer with their fans. All the Sea Dogs ask is for you to make a donation of a new unwrapped toy to the Maine Marines' Toys For Toys campaign. Those donated toys will go to children in Maine whose families may be struggling financially this season.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with Santa Claus' arrival by helicopter at 11 a.m. as the highlight of the day. Not taking anything away from Slugger of course. He's been making Christmas YouTube videos for several years to get the word out about Holiday at Hadlock and this one from 2019 is my favorite.

There'll be games, arts and crafts, free hot chocolate and cookies, face painters, a make-your-own S'More station, holiday music and the giant left field screen may be displaying a crackling fire.

And of course, don't forget Slugger.
