This is likely a revelation to most folks who listen to WBLM. My last name is of Scottish origin. In fact when I was an 11-year-old growing up in Augusta, my Nana and I traced our family genealogy all the way to Glasgow in the 1700s.

You might be familiar with the name, Brian James on the radio. That's my first and middle name. My last name is Morrison.

Now, why wouldn't I have used that on the air for the past 30 plus years? I guess I could've dropped my first name and been James Morrison. Kind of pretentious though don't you think? Yeah, me too.

I also felt like Morrison didn't roll off the tongue quite as well as Brian James. So now you know my full name. It really wasn't anything I was keeping secret. Brian James just felt right.

Today I would like to shout my last name from the rooftops with news that there will be a Scottish Festival in Southern Maine. Celebrate Celtic heritage safely on June 5th at Veterans Memorial Park in Old Orchard Beach.

This looks like a lot of fun. I just got my wife Sherry and I on the waiting list for the COVID 19 vaccine so hopefully we are good to go by June.  I could use a good Maine summertime festival after months of isolation. How 'bout you?

I'm gonna do my best to make sure Clan Morrison is represented. Finally here's a good excuse to get my wife to say "yes" to me getting a kilt. maybe I can find a mask to match my family tartan?

The announcement was posted on Facebook this week by OOB365.
