This Banner Is How We Do Social Distancing – Portland, Maine Style!
STAY WICKED FAH APAHT. Only Portland, Maine could have a banner like this hanging in the city during a global pandemic. These wicked cool Social Distance and Mask Up public art banners are all over Portland these days. They are all incredible and all created by local artists. This fantastic public health art initiative is the brainchild of the fine folks at Creative Portland, the official arts agency for the City of Portland.
Here's another great banner that is hanging in Portland. Once again, only in Maine do we use BEARS to help us social distance. Fantastic!
Our friend Dinah Minot is the Executive Director of Creative Portland and told us:
Just drive around Portland for 15 minutes and you'll see these banners. Look for them at the Westin Hotel and Mechanics Hall. Community partners placing banners also include Chris Dimillo, Steve Kalisz of MHR Management, Dana Totman of Avesta, Maine Medical Center, One Longfellow Square, Maine Historical Society, Coffee by Design, Coal’s Pizza, Ed Gardner, Dunham Group, Jim Brady/Fathom, Chris Rhoades/TT Maine Venture LLC, Portland Housing Authority, Portland Water District, Nathan Szanton, Opus Consulting Group, Liquid Riot Bottling Company, University of Southern Maine, JB Brown, Gateway Garage, GP METRO, and even homeowners, like Dan St. Peter.
Thanks to all the Maine artists who Creative Portland hired to create this amazing public art:
