Today you've got a Fab Four..."miscalculation", we'll call it... -- Check out an early '70's festival line-up that's flat-out unbelievable, and Cher's original better half goes for it!!!

8/25/1967 (53 years ago today) - At least they got "The White Album" out of it: At University College in Bangor, North Wales, The Beatles hold a press conference with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to announce they have become disciples of the guru and that they now also renounce the use of drugs (say what?) -- Fans eyebrows arch in vague disbelief because now, as members of the Maharishi's "Spiritual Regeneration Movement", the boys are obligated to donate one week's earnings each month to the organization. 8/25/1970 (50 years ago today) - Ahhh, so this is what "legendary" really means...: It's the third annual Isle of Wight music festival over in England. For the next three days you can catch sets from The Doors, The Who, The Moody Blues, Spirit, Sly & The Family Stone, Procol Harum, Joni Mitchell, Donovan, Chicago, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Free, and, in what would turn out to be his last ever performance in the U.K., Jimi HendrixYeah, we really can't come up with what a 2020 version of this would be like. Just as well...

The epitaph on his headstone reads "And The Beat Goes On"...
