Tonight’s WBLM Mini-Concert

On this date in 1973 just two months before your Blimp was born, Bruce Springsteen released his debut album Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ.  It only sold 25,000 copies in the first year, but went on to be certified double platinum in 1992. Both “Blinded by the Light” and “Spirit in the Night” were released as singles. Even though they didn’t become hits, WBLM gave those songs plenty of airplay and also included “For You” and “Growin’ Up”. Let’s celebrate this historic debut on it’s 44th Anniversary.

We count 3 appearances in Maine by Bruce since his first one in 1973 up in Houlton. While there are no upcoming Bruce shows in Portland, the next best thing will be here in February. Bruce in the USA returns to the Port City Music Hall!
