34 years ago, Loverboy sold out the Civic Center. The Get Lucky tour was the first appearance there for the Canadians from Calgary. On July 5, 1982, it was the first of three shows during the 80s at Portland's largest venue, all of them sellouts. Get Lucky was Loverboy's second album released in October of '81. BLM was crankin' Lucky Ones, Take Me to the Top, When It's Over and of course the eventual signature classic, Working for the Weekend. Remember that album cover with the red leather pants and fingers crossed? Original band members Mike Reno (vocals) Paul Dean (guitar) Doug Johnson (keyboards) and Matt Frenette (drums) are still touring together and most recently played Bangor, Maine in 2012. Original bassist Scott Smith died in 2000 and was replaced by Ken Sinnaeve.

Join us tonight at 6:20 for live Loverboy on the WBLM Mini-Concert! And don't forget to wear your red bandana!
