Well, the days are getting nicer and nicer finally. And as we spend more time in the great Maine outdoors, we really should gotta keep in mind that the ticks are back.

According to the Center for Disease Control, you don't have to go wicked deep into the woods for one of these nasty little vampires to muckle on to you. An unwanted hitchhiker may be right in your own backyard. So next time you come back inside, make sure you check yourself. And don't forget those nether regions too.

Now let's have some fun with a band from Lovell over in beautiful Oxford County. They call themselves Flooded Cellar.  When the warm weather finally arrives they enjoy fishing on Kezar Lake.

These boys also like to stroll through the tall grass in wide open spaces and hike the wooded trails.  Along with these nature loving excursions of course comes the threat of terrible tiny beasts...Friggin' Ticks!

Here's a fun project for the kids this week. The Maine CDC is having a poster creation contest for Lyme Disease Awareness Month which is in May. The deadline for submissions this Friday May 1.
