According to MSN.com, the dashing man wearing his new brown sports jacket and new tortoise shell glasses just happened to be at the right place at the right time. American tourist Paul Cole, was sick of sight seeing and decided to chill on the sidewalk and wait for his wife by a zebra crossing in North West London. You can see Paul on the right side of the street on the Abbey Road album. Police had stopped traffic giving the band only ten minutes to get the picture. The Beatles' photographer was on a stepladder looking down on the street and Paul happened to get in the shot.

What was Paul Cole thinking that day? Well, he saw three dudes walking back and forth across the street like a family of ducks and thought they were "a bunch of kooks". Paul McCartney wasn't wearing shoes, which apparently, you didn't do in London. Paul didn't know who The Beatles were at the time but recognised himself on the cover when he eventually saw it. Many other people stepped forward to claim that it was them. Paul died back in 2008 at the age of 98.

Paul, you can't get more rock n roll than photobombing a Beatles album. Well done, my man.
