How would you like to zip along Casco Bay floating ABOVE  the water?

Captain Joe, born and raised in Maine, owned DownEast Duck Adventures for 15 years. I have been on that duck boat at least a dozen times and Captain Joe is fantastic.

Captain Joe has been on or near the water his whole life and now he's got his hands on a hovercraft. More specifically the Explorer 24 hovercraft!

The best part about Captain Joe's coolest new toy is that YOU can do an hour-long hover boat tour and learn about the history and beauty of Maine with Hover Maine.

The Explorer 24 hovercraft can go up to 32 mph and flies over a foot off of any surface. That is SO cool! You would think it's super loud, but the large diameter propeller cuts the noise far below common hovercraft, comparable to a jet boat.

The brakes, controlled by the operator reduces the pressure of the forward two compartments. That lets you slow down, stop or turn smoothly!

The passenger cabin is completely enclosed with fresh air flow through the cabin. That means this is a rain or shine tour! And this year, there's been a lot in the rain. It can seat 10-12 people and what a crazy way to see Maine’s beautiful land and waterscapes.

This is SO COOL! Who's in?

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
