29 years ago today, the Dr. Feelgood World Tour made a stop in Portland, Maine. On December 14, 1989, it was a sold-out show at the Civic Center. What a way for Blimpville to say goodbye to a decade of decadence.

Check out what they played on this totally rad night of Maine Motley madness!

This was Motley Crue at the height of their powers, a bonafide balls to the wall night of 80s rock debauchery. The most memorable moment for us was when Tommy Lee did a drum solo featuring song samples from Led Zeppelin's  The Ocean and Joe Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way. Suddenly everyone was lookin' up!  We were blown away as this was on a kit rigged to cruise above the crowd.  So sick!

This video features footage from the tour that'll put you right back into your acid-washed jeans.

And, oh yeah. There's another Motley celebration this week. Happy Birthday to the founding member, lyricist and bassist for Motley Crue! He was born Frank Carlton Serafino Feranna, Jr. on December 11, 1958 in San Jose, California. The man we all know and love as Nikki Sixx turned 60 this past Tuesday.
