Rolling Stone magazine has declared 1984 to have been the best year for pop. Well, I graduated from Thornton Academy in Saco in 1984 and I agree with Rolling Stone! Here are their top 100 hits from 1984. Some of our favorite rockers represented strong: Bruce, U2, Bon Jovi, Lionel Richie-oh, wait...um, no. Crawl into the backseat of my time machine! Upon the arrival of iPhone 6 and IOS8, let's look back to where it all began. This is the very first Apple Mcintosh commercial that was run during Superbowl XVIII being played in Tampa. Last week U2 received a mixed reaction to uploading their new album. In 1984 they were just getting started and their live shows were legend! Personally, I LOVE Bono with a mullet.

Number 14 on Rolling Stone's list, (tucked between "Jam on It" and "99 Luftballoons'), is one of the best break up songs ever written. it needs no introduction...

I could hang out and talk to you about how much fun 1984 was all day, but I should go get some real work done. It was my thirty year high school reunion this year so I'm feeling a bit sentimental. The truth is, forty years from now I'm sure I'll still be talking in "Ghost Busters" quotes and singing Chaka Khan, "I Feel for You", in the shower.

I was working at Shaw's in Saco and finally had my own money to buy concert tickets! At the C.C.C.C. I saw The Go-Go's with INXS, Duran Duran, Rick Springfield with Corey Hart and The Scorpions-with Bon Jovi opening for them!
