What's more American than apple pie? Simple. The blues. The iconic music style and our wonderful country go together like peanut butter and Ritz crackers; a perfectly smooth combination.

From its incredibly powerful and important origins in the Deep South to its immeasurable impact on generations of rock and other genres, the blues continues to be a creative and indestructible force.

Musicians like Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix, and others have helped pioneer and popularize the blues. However, you can find great blues on any street corner or bar in this country every day of the week.

With that being said, a lot of great blues is going to be coming to one of Maine's favorite vacation spots, Old Orchard Beach.

The 8th Annual Seacoast Blues Festival is just weeks away, and ready to fill the region with some sweet sounding music. The festival will be held on Saturday, August 13 at the Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach. The legendary stadium is a perfect location for such a cool musical event.

The festival will have plenty of food and drink vendors, as well as local artisan booths. And of course, the festival has a stacked performer lineup that includes regional blues icons like Ronnie Earl, James Montgomery, and the Juke Joint Devils.

The festival kicks off at 1pm, with performances up until 8:30pm. It seems like it's going to be one epic day of family entertainment in Old Orchard Beach, especially for those true lovers and believers of the blues.
