The definition of a true artist in every sense of the word and an inspiration to countless fans all over the planet, the great David Bowie gave the world an amazing 50 year career that was always 'chuh-chuh-chuh' changing with every project.

He was born David Jones in Brixton, London, England on January 8, 1947. Bowie was a singer, a songwriter, a record producer, an arranger, an actor and a painter. He also played a mean saxophone. Was there anything this amazing man couldn't do?

Sadly, we started off the New Year in 2016 with the news that he had died after a battle with cancer.  Portland, Maine celebrated his life and artistry with an incredible sold-out tribute show at the State Theatre on a cold January night soon after his passing.

David Bowie had such a tremendous positive impact in our lives. Four years later, and we still miss him dearly.

Happy 73rd Birthday to the Thin White Duke from the Big Blue Blimp.

John Kumnick is a fantastic bass player who is our neighbor here in Southern Maine. Listen here as he tells his incredible story of what is was like performing with David Bowie on the Tonight Show in the early Eighties.
