Happy Birthday to singer-songwriter and all-around working man's rock star, Bob Seger! The legend turns 75 today.

He was born Robert Clark Seger in Lincoln Park, Michigan on May 6,1945. Bob's music career started in the early 60s as a successful local artist in Detroit.

We count 4 trips to Maine from Bob Seger over the years with 3 shows in Portland and 1 in Bangor.

The first appearance was as The Bob Seger System in 1970 at the Portland Expo.

No monster hits yet, but most of us recognize Ramblin' Gamblin' Man. Cool to see they played some Jimi Hendrix along with a cover from Ike and Tina too.

Check out this rarity. It's The Bob Seger System at the Portland Expo 50 years ago this coming September. Here's a recording of the first song on the setlist that night, Mongrel. This is quite a Portland rock and roll treasure right here, for sure.

Wanna see this absolutely badass TV performance of Ramblin' Gamblin' Man from 1970? Ummm...yeah, you do.  Give the drummer some! Yowza!

The second time Seger came to Maine was 8 years later with The Silver Bullet Band. It was on May 17, 1978. This was 2 days after the release of Stranger in Town and the CCCC was sold-out.

The scene probably looked something like this. Here's Still The Same from 1978 in San Diego.

The third Maine appearance was on the Against the Wind tour at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

"Seems like yesterday. But, it was long ago." It was another sold-out show for Bob Seger in Portland on September 25,1980.

Bob Seger's last Maine appearance was at Bangor's Cross Insurance Center in 2014 with the mighty J.Geils Band opening.

Watch Her Strut live from Bob Seger's last Maine appearance.

We LOVE the SEEG in Blimpville! Happiest of birthdays to you, good sir.
