We're going to miss the cool weather family fun at LL Bean this weekend. For many years, the annual Pumpkin Festival to benefit Camp Sunshine. The major attraction being thousands of creatively carved pumpkins lit up on display at Bean's and around Freeport.

Camp Sunshine is a non-profit organization operating year round and is located on Sebago Lake in Casco.

They provide good times and support for children with life-threatening illnesses  and their families free of charge. It's a truly beautiful example of the helpful humanity we always need to see more of, that's for sure.

Unfortunately due to Covid 19, the great people there haven't been able to work directly in person with local families in need of support.

According to the Camp Sunshine Facebook page, the festival will held virtually online this year.  For 2020, it is being called the Great Pumpkin Virtual Run/Walk/Roll.

However, they haven't forgotten the pumpkins this year. Camp Sunshine will be giving away 1000 of them at drive-thru events in Casco on Wednesday 10/21 and at LL Bean in Freeport on Thursday 10/22 as part of the weeklong celebration.
