Check Out All The Movies Set In Or Inspired By Maine

When I think of movies that take place in Maine, immediately Stephen King's Pet Sematary and Shawshank Redemption come to mind. And oh yeah, there's Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical Carousel made in Boothbay Harbor.

A great montage video from the Maine Film Center has just been released. Man oh man, there are so many more. The clip shows us a myriad of movie classics that take place here in Maine or have ties to our state.

It was put together to get the word out about a statewide festival happening March 5-15 in as part of Maine's Bicentennial this year happening at independent theatres.

Watch and be wowed by all the films we love that we likely didn't know are connected to Maine.
