When it comes to shopping for just about anything, I don't usually travel far from home  because there's lots to find within a half hour drive. However, this week I tried something different, I drove to Auburn to check out Hobby Lobby.

I was gobstopped, it was a crafting/sewing/decorating nirvana. I didn't know where to begin, my eyes shot around to get a lay of the land but I still ended up wandering from display to display.

I was so moved that I took pictures! I'll also be writing a letter to Governor Mills to plea for a Hobby Lobby here in Portland. I don't think that's within her power, but I need to do something!

Farmhouse decor is having a moment, you'll find plenty at Hobby Lobby.

The lighting was so current and still inexpensive.

OMG, the Easter stuff took up multiple aisles. My nine year old lost her MIND! My phone camera couldn't capture the immensity of Easter basket swag that the Easter Bunny will find here.

Another comeback-kid is faux flowers, and there are fields of them.

There's a huge fabric/sewing wing too. I love trims, add some metal to them and they are at a whole new level.

An entire display dedicated to llamas! We bought a print for my daughter's bedroom.

They also do framing. This is an art piece that daughter #1 did when she was 6 years old. I had it matted and framed at H.L. while I shopped. It took ten minutes and was much more affordable than I thought it was going to be. Framing can be pricey. It looks so amazing and the U.V. glass will protect the construction paper colors from fading.

We wandered around, filled up a shopping cart with goodies and by the time we made it to the candle section it was time to put our feet up and have something to eat.

"No more candles, Mom!" Don't let that face fool you, she's as much of a crafter as I am and half the cart was treasures for her!

There's a clock that I should have bought, so since it's a half day of school today, we are going back. I'm so pumped!

Please Hobby Lobby, bring a store closer to Portland! Is there a store, restaurant or business that you wish were close by? Comment on our Fan Page.
