Tucking behind Northampton's historic Union Station is a majestic bar that feels less like a bar and more like a secret you want to discover.

The Tunnel Bar located at 125 A Pleasant Street, isn’t just underground, it’s actually built into an old train tunnel, according to Tunnel Bar on Facebook.

The outside is wrapped in it’s original big gray stone and brick from back in 1897, as per the post.

This place is dripping with old world atmosphere and feels like you're stepping into a secret and ordering an award winning martini while you're there.

Look at it this way, if hobbits ordered martinis, this would be the place they’d drink them in.

A Hidden World Beneath Union Station

As we all know, Union Station is already a magical masterpiece and at the turn of the century, thousands of passengers passed through it’s door while making their voyage to America.

Celebrity’s and well known figures passed through these halls, like President Theodore Roosevelt, William McKinly, Herbert Hoover, and Calvin Coolidge.

The history is never ending. The Tunnel Bar is known for it’s aware winning martinis, but the real magic as you can see is the setting.

The low stone arches, warm lighting, and feel of being inside a hidden world beneath the city is something you can’t buy. This spot is named “Top 19 Bars in America to Drink at Before You Die,” by Buzzfeed.
