‘It’s Real, I Swear to God': Viral TikTok Video Hilariously Explains Maine is a Real State
Sadly, there are a lot of people in the United States who don't have a clue where Maine is, and some who don't even think it's a state. Not only is it a state, but it has been a part of the US since 1820 when it succeded from Massachusetts.
I'll admit, there are some states I wouldn't be able to find on a map of the US, but if we played a game of "Real or Fake State," which I just made up, I would easily be able to tell a real state name from a fake one. That is something everyone who is a citizen of the United States should know.
That's kind of the problem that one person originally from Maine ran into when she recently moved to another state.
TikToker bigkhakis posted a video recently ranting about how bouncers and bartenders in whichever state she is in now question that her Maine license is real. I'm not sure if they are confused that Maine is an actual state, or if they think the Maine license is a forgery. Who knows?
She directs this rant at the bouncers who asked her, "Who the f--- lives in Maine?"
I have two takeaways from this fantastic and well-delivered rant:
1. These bouncers and bartenders need to go study up on what driver's licenses look like for each of the 50 states so they don't question someone thinking a license isn't legit. It's part of your job to be familiar with them.
2. I learned that a Maine State license has a pine tree on it if you hold it up to the light. Neat!
