Are You Confused by New Hampshire’s Most Popular Fast Food Chain?
It's no secret that we have a loud and proud foodie population here in New England, and with good reason. Our restaurant industry is killing it, and there's never a shortage of new establishments opening their doors to the public. You can never run out of places to visit for your next dining experience, especially in New Hampshire.
Amongst the 3,000+ restaurants that call the Granite State home are a wide variety of fast food places. These chain restaurants are great options if you're looking for a bite in a pinch, or want to conveniently go through the drive-through en route to your destination.
Everyone has their favorite fast food establishment(s), but which ones are the most popular? That's where Cheapism comes in. The blog recently shared a list of the most popular fast food places in each state, and the choice for New Hampshire has this writer feeling confused.
Cheapism identified Taco Bell as the state's most popular fast food chain, and those in Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont apparently share a similar sentiment.
Here's the thing. We've got nothing against Taco Bell and its 11 New Hampshire locations. Mexican food is a gift from the gods, and a restaurant that can set you up with tacos, quesadillas, and burritos in a pinch deserves a shoutout. But to say Taco Bell is the most popular fast food chain in the entire state seems like a bit of a stretch. This writer's never been, and the place has rarely (if ever) come up in conversation. The same can't be said for Cheapism's first two runners-up for New Hampshire: Wendy's and McDonald's.
At the time of this writing, there are 23 Wendy's locations in New Hampshire.
As for McDonald's, the exact number of locations is unclear, but it appears to be in the 50's at present, according to 24/7 Wall St.
Rounding out the top five most popular fast food chains in New Hampshire are Burger King and Subway, respectively. Looks like we've got lots of burger and sandwich fans in these parts.
