This past Sunday I experienced Open Farm Day in Maine by having "Lunch on the Land" at Harris Farm in Hollis. There were free hayrides, burgers, lots of delicious fresh milk, the most amazing corn I've ever had, fresh, crunchy salads and home-baked desserts. Lots of 'em. There was also rain. Lots of it!

Despite the rain, everyone had a great time and it had a decidedly "Mainah" attitude. We left the farm soaking wet, muddy and with 10 ears of corn, a bag of freshly picked green beans, a pound of fresh butter and 1 pickling cuke for Sabelle to try. We called the day a success, but do hope for better weather next year so that we can visit with the cows.

What have some of the highlights been for you this summer? Let us in on your favorite summer places and events in Blimpville on our Facebook Fan Page #mainesummer, or tweet us.

The next big thing is Bash,Clash and BBQ, see you there!
