One of New England's most popular chains, Cumberland Farms (or Cumby’s) perfectly defines the term convenience. The store is a one-stop shop for any Mainer in a bind for gas, a drink, or a quick bite. The stores are known for being very budget-friendly, offering inexpensive coffee and food items. There’s even a way to save on gas with its rewards program.

These are all reasons why Cumby’s takes the title of Maine’s most popular gas station. It also helps that the state is loaded with them. According to the data company ScrapeHero, there are 43 Cumby’s locations in Maine, making it one of the most prevalent gas station brands in the state. Come to think of it, I pass four on my 25-minute commute to work. And yes, I typically stop at one of them two or three times a week. It’s a trusted convenience.

What are the Most Popular Gast Stations Nationwide?

Cumby’s is the most popular gas station in seven states. However, that was only good enough for third place. Ahead of them are Circle K, a favorite in eight states, and the legendary Buc-ee’s, which took the top spot in nine states. You know, it would be nice if we could get a Buc-ee’s here in Maine. I think it’s time we truly see what all the fuss is about.
