Maine is On Track For Its Most Humid Summer in 70 Years
If you think this has been one of the most brutally humid summers here in Maine, you'd be right.
News Center Maine meteorologist Keith Carson did a little digging as far back as 1948 to find the history of how many days in Maine had a dew point of 70 degrees or higher from May to November of each year. The dew point is the temperature to which air must be cooled to become saturated with water. The closer the dew point is to the air temperature, the higher the relative humidity is and the more miserable we feel.
This is what he found. Keep in mind, this is only the first week of August.
With seven weeks to go, 2018 could go down in history as the most humid year ever experienced in Maine.
