Maine Skips Spring and Moves From Winter Straight to Summer This Week
If you don't like the weather...wait a minute.
News Center Maine's meteorologist Jason Nappi pointed out that we are gonna deal with the 's' word. No, not sixty - but seventy! Check out the 30-degree difference between Saturday and Thursday!
It's not that this winter has been exceptionally hard, but it's just been long. It's April and it's time. The first thing I'm doing Sunday through Thursday is opening up some windows and letting in some fresh air! Between cooking smells that linger and two teenage boys, the house could use some good ol' fresh Maine air. But oh oh. I have not tried on shorts and have no clue if they fit. I'm thinking my winter eating habits might send me on a shopping spree.
Portland is holding its very first Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 8. It was supposed to be on April 1, but rain postponed it for a week. It's too bad it couldn't be postponed one more week. Saturday's highs will barely reach the mid 40's. Nothing like looking for eggs with your heavy winter coat on.
Holy cow. You know what else I was thinking? My lawn is not going to understand that I have no desire to mow anything yet. So if I could make a plea for it to take this as a little misunderstanding and not grow four inches in the next week, that would be great. Meteorologists like Jason Nappi must love this wild swing! We're Mainers...we all do!
